2. Alternate Financing

HBIF is a proud partner of ACCION USA, Florida's largest micro lender, which provides financing between $500 to $25,000 to small business entrepreneurs who do not qualify for a traditional bank loan due to poor or lack any credit history. This program is available all small business owners in Central Florida.

Anyone interested should stop by the HBIF offices in downtown Orlando to apply for a loan or to request more information about the program. The information is available in English and Spanish.

3. Weekly Orientation Sessions - "How to Start a Business"

HBIF offers free weekly orientations in Spanish designed to facilitate basic tools and resources to entrepreneurs. Topics include: licenses and permits, state regulations, financing options, and how HBIF can offer assistance to your business at no cost. Kissimmee orientations are offered every Tuesday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Kissimmee/Osceola County Chamber of Commerce, located at 1425 E. Vine St., Conference Room, Kissimmee, FL 34744.

Orlando orientations are offered every Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Disney Entrepreneur Center located at 315 E. Robinson St., Ste. 100, Orlando, FL 32801.

4. Seminars

HBIF's bilingual seminar series offers entrepreneurial training in specific topics, which are critical to Hispanic entrepreneurs interested in starting or expanding their business in Central Florida. These seminars will help entrepreneurs make critical decisions needed to become successful and, in turn, help the economic development of the region. These seminars are facilitated in Spanish by industry experts and are offered at no cost.

5. The Contractor's Academy

HBIF in partnership with the Expressway Authority offers a free, 7-week bilingual workshop to help facilitate the development of successful construction businesses in Central Florida.

The next Contractors Academy will be offered from September 26, 2007. You must reserve your seat to participate. One representative from each company will be allowed to participate.
